Barishal Bima Mela will be held this October

INSURANCEDAILY.NET, Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) has taken the initiative to organize the Barishal Bima Mela (insurance fair) 2022 which was postponed due to unavoidable reasons.

For his purpose, 5 subcommittees have been formed beside the overall management committee of 17 members. On Monday (October 3) Authorities issued two separate office orders in this regard.

According to the related sources, the new date of Barisal Bima Mela has not been decided yet. Formerly, a 3-day divisional insurance fair was scheduled to be held at Bangbandhu Udyan (Bells Park) in Barishal from 14 to 16 January this year.

But, due to unavoidable reasons, the regulatory agency IDRA announced the suspension of that insurance fair. Such an announcement was made 5 days before the fair was held.

Apart from this, the authorities have also suspended the insurance fair organized on June 10 and 11 in Rajshahi Division.

But IDRA has not given any clear reason to postpone Rajshahi Bima Mela 2022. The suspension of the fair was announced on June 2 of this year.

According to the Executive Director (Joint Secretary) of IDRA and Spokesman of the organization, SM Shakil Akhter said that the insurance fair which was arranged in the Barishal division last January and later it was suspended by the regulator; basically that is being organized again.

The date of Barishal Bima Mela 2022 has not been decided yet. But it may be held at the end of this October, said S M Shakil Akhter.

N.B: The insurance fair (Bima Mela) was held for the first time in the capital Dhaka in 2016. The insurance fair was organized at the Bangabandhu International conference center.

Then divisional-level insurance fair was held in Sylhet in 2017. In 2018, Bima Mela was held I in Chittagong. And last Bima Mela was arranged in Khulna in 2019.
