INSURANCEDAILY.NET, 3 lakh 71 thousand farmers of Karnataka, a state in southwest India, have enrolled in the Crop Insurance scheme this year. The farmers have paid Rs 35 crore 4 lakh 6 thousand premium for this insurance coverage till now.
Agriculture Minister BC Patel said the information in a press conference that was held recently. 36 types of crops can be insured under this crop insurance scheme run under the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana.
The Agriculture Minister has called for other farmers to register for this crops insurance scheme as soon as possible. Farmers can contact the nearest agriculture office to register for the crop insurance scheme, he said.
The stage is not facing a shortage of fertilizer. The government is providing fertilizer and seeds based on requirements. We are taking action against those who create artificial crises despite having adequate reserves of fertilizer.
Agriculture Minister BC Patel also said Dealer and seller will be monitored.
This year, a target has been set to grow crops on 77 lakh hectares of land. In the meantime, crops have been cultivated in 44.18 lakh hectares of land.
According to BC Patel, the state was successful in conducting the grain survey last year and a similar survey has been launched this year as well. (Source: Indian Express)
